It's not Portland, Salem, Eugene, Medford, Klamath Falls, or Grants Pass; but it's Ashland receiving Google's E-City award for Oregon this year. A Google Ranking puts the Southern Oregon Town at the top of the list for the strongest use of online technology in the state. The ranking means businesses are embracing social media including the use of websites and mobile access to attract businesses not seen in other Oregon cities. Google's Darcy Nothnagle says that's why Ashland rose to the top of this years list.
Mayor John Stromberg credits businesses and the city Government's commitment to connect through the internet as reason for success in receiving the Google award this year.
