Police Warn of Craig's List Job Scam

By Jim McCoy Fri 28th February News
Medford Police are warning job seekers to be wary of a scam on Craigslist. There are postings seeking a nanny and house keeper. If the applicant gets the job, they are given an advance check, and told to keep a portion saved and “money gram” the rest to another person. The check later turns out to be fake, and the victim is out any money they may have sent forward. Authorities urge Craigslist users to deal with local people they can meet face-to-face, never wire funds and avoid any deals using shipping and escrow services.
