2004 Red Sox Pitcher Named Baseball Coach at Oregon School

According to a report at the Jay Reese Sports Facebook page, former major league pitcher Alan Embree has been named baseball coach at Summit High School. Embree was a member of the Boston Red Sox when they won the World Series in 2004. Embree served as the team's pitching coach in at the Bend area school in 2012. As a left-handed relief pitcher, Embree pitched in 882 major league games between 1992 and 2009. Summit was a runner-up for the 5A state title last year to Wilson.
