Arrests Made In Storage Unit, Trailer Burglary

A Cave Junction man, 32-year old Matthew Granger, was arrested Tuesday and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for the theft of a trailer and other items from six storage units at Oak Grove Mini Storage Monday, November 19th. A day before the burglary, Amanda Harris of Grants Pass rented out a unit. Granger was assisted by Harris in gaining entry into the secured storage property.Read More »

Early Morning Fire at Vacant Medford Home Prompts Evacuation

A 3 a.m. fire at 414 West Jackson in Medford prompted the evacuation of two neighboring homes. It spread to the home next door at 412 West Jackson. The resident and her cats made it out of the home safely. The cause is unknown. No one was injured.

Owners of Northwest Grain Terminals Prepare for Work Stoppage

Pacific Northwest grain terminal owners are readying for a strike or lockout as the longshore union weighs what the owners describe as their "last, best and final" contract offer. The owners planned to meet Wednesday afternoon, hours before the midnight deadline they have imposed on the union to OK the offer. The rain could get heavy at times, and snow is expected in the mountains above 4,000 feet. Jackson County Sheriff's Department Gives Saturation Patrol Results

13 motorists were arrested for drunk driving during the Thanksgiving holiday according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s deputies joined with the Oregon State Police and city police departments around southern Oregon in saturation patrols.
