I-5 Work in Ashland Ahead of Schedule

The Oregon Department of Transportation says demolition work on I-5 exit 14 in Ashland is going ahead of schedule and could be done Saturday night. Crews are removing decaying concrete. There have been some complaints concerning the noise being made at night, but ODOT has the permits to do the work, and most are reportedly understanding.

Grants Pass Hit & Run

A Grants Pass woman is facing “hit and run” and “d.u.i.” charges stemming from an accident early thursday morning. At 2-18 a-m, police found a power pole and a light pole completely sheered off near the intersection of 7th and “E” streets. Willie Nelson Endorses Marijuana Initiative In Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Willie Nelson has endorsed the initiative
that would legalize marijuana in Oregon and appears in a video in
support of the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act. The singer told The Oregonian he was enlisted in the campaign last week by activist Paul Stanford of

R.C.C. To Consider Cuts

Rogue Community College is considering cuts in order to slash a 2-million dollar deficit.  10 staff positions could be eliminated as well as classes in construction technology and their theater program.  A public hearing will be held April 17th to discuss the proposed cuts that the school says would save 1-point-5 million dollars.

Senior Fair Offers One Stop Shop for Services

Southern Oregon’s yearly health fair has attracted thousands to the Medford’s Armory. 88 vendors focusing on the needs of area seniors assisted those who attended the one day event. Arson Suspect Has Outburst At Arraignment

Raymond Lee Wilson- the 37-year old transient accused of arson and vandalism in Ashland- screamed incoherently during his arraignment Tuesday. Wilson continually screamed for an attorney, and as his voice grew louder, he became harder to understand.Read More »

Ashland police have accused a homeless man
of setting fire to businesses in the town's central Plaza, sending
residents of upstairs apartments clambering over rooftops to
safety.

Stabbing Lands Medford Man In Jail

Sunday morning at 5:43 a.m., Medford police responded to an incident at a residence on Boardman Street. Upon arrival, they found a 22-year old male who had been stabbed, and was suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The investigation found the victim and Michael Robert Fredenburg had been engaged in an altercation that culminated in Fredenburg allegedly stabbing the victim.Read More »

Klamath Falls Man Arrested After Car Chase

A Klamath Falls area man was arrested Sunday after attempting to elude the Oregon State Police in a stolen vehicle on Highway 97. The incident ended when the driver crashed and then attempted to flee on foot. 43-year old Aaren M. Broderick Jr. Was caught about 300 feet from the Volkswagen Jetta he was driving, and is now lodged in Klamath County Jail.
