Gas Prices Steady, May Rise In February

Report: Oregon Had 3rd Highest Job Growth in 2013

A new report shows Oregon with the third-highest percentage of job growth in the nation. The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Tuesday says Oregon posted a 2.4 percent increase in 2013. Only North Dakota and Florida expanded at a faster clip. Washington's job base grew by 1.9 percent.

New Trial Date Set For Alleged Roseburg Motel Shooter

A July 15 trial date has been set for a man accused of firing at five police officers during a shootout at a Roseburg motel in 2012. 24-year-old Jonathan Lackey has been charged with attempted murder, attempted assault and other crimes. A three-day trial was scheduled to begin this week, but defense attorney Daniel Bouck asked for and received a new date.

Union Pacific Train Derails Near Redding

Union Pacific Railroad crews are working to put two box cars back on the tracks following a derailment in far Northern California. Union Pacific spokeswoman Calli Hite says four of 67 cars on a freight train heading from Roseville, Calif. to Portland, Ore. derailed around 4 p.m. Monday near Redding.Read More »
