Gov. Kitzhaber Having Skin Cancer Procedure

Gov. John Kitzhaber says he has been diagnosed with a minor form of skin cancer on his face. The governor told the Oregonian Tuesday ( ) that he will undergo outpatient surgery in six to eight weeks to remove the pea-sized lesion from his left cheek. Kitzhaber says the cancer was identified as basal cell carcinoma, a slow-growing form of the disease.Read More »

Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Wolf Creek

A 69-year old Grants Pass woman was struck and killed on Old Highway 99 East in Wolf Creek. At 7:04 p.m., a 1995 Isuzu Trooper driven by 19-year old Colton Shults of Wolf Creek hit Delores Grantham. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Shults was not injured. The incident remains under investigation.

Interim Expo Director Named

Prior to coming to work with the Expo in December as a consultant, Funk was with Rogue Federal Credit Union as Membership Operations Director. Annual Report: US Cellular Community Park Generated 10 Million Dollars In Economic Stimulus

A report from the Medford Parks ad Recreation Department shows that the US Cellular Community Park had an economic impact of $10.2 million produced by 44 tournaments and events in 2014. That’s an increase of 11 percent from 2013. The report indicates that some 1,415 teams competed on the park’s 11 synthetic turf fields- including nearly 748 from outside the Rogue Valley.Read More »

Father, Daughter Arrested For Stealing Purse

A father and daughter in Grants Pass are in custody, accused of stealing a woman’s purse from her while she was loading her car January in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Police received a tip that the suspects and the getaway car matched the description of 50-year old John O’Neal and his 22-year old daughter Amanda. 2014 Crime Stats for Medford Offer Mixed Bag of News

A report from the Medford Police Department reveals a mixture of good and bad news. The bad news is property crimes such as thefts and cars thefts are up by seven percent and 33 percent respectively, and arson went up 29 percent. Suicide calls also went up by 15 percent. Police Looking For Alleged Stalker In Medford

The Medford Police are searching for a man with an alleged history of stalking and assaulting a local woman. Authorities have been unable to locate 34-year old John Aranda. He’s 5’6” and 180 pounds. He was put on probation for stalking and attacking a woman last year, and now he is in violation for stalking the same woman again.Read More »

Woman Arrested for Prescription Forgery
