Saturday afternoon at 1:10 p.m, Search and Rescue responded to a call that 17-year old Tate Scharnberg from Yreka was being pulled by a boat on Lost Creek Lake, and when he detached, Scharnberg encountered a strong wind gust that steered him off course, and into a tree.Read More »

C&K's Plan To Emerge From Bankruptcy Approved

The company owns 11 stores around the region, and they’re planning initiatives that will include marketing produce grown locally near each location, a specialty candy program that includes sugar-free candies, salad bars and other innovations.

Marijuana Taxes Approved by Ashland City Council

Taxes on marijuana sales have been approved by the Ashland City Council. The exact percentages will be determined at later date, but the council Tuesday night approved a tax of up to five percent on medical marijuana and 10 percent on recreational marijuana. The council also approved medical marijuana dispensaries for certain sections of Siskiyou Boulevard, Ashland Street and Main Street.
