Contract Awarded To Modify Fish Ladder On Diversion Dam In Bear Creek

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $1,756,850 contract last Thursday to Northbank Civil and Marine, LLC, a small business from Vancouver, Washington, to construct fish ladder modifications to the Oak Street Diversion Dam located approximately 1 mile north of Ashland on Bear Creek. When complete, the current fish ladder will be replaced with a new one on the opposite side of the dam.Read More »

Police Had Prior Contact With Stephen McMilon

The Medford Police Department says they had had contact with a man shot and killed Sunday two hours before the 4:30 p.m incident. At around 2 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call at McMilon's home, but finding no evidence of a crime, made no arrest. Fugitives Found In Grants Pass, Arrested

The Grants Pass Police Department and US Marshals teamed up to take two fugitives into custody. The two fugitives from Jackson County were reported to be at a Riverside Avenue residence in Grants Pass Sunday night. Because of the severity of their crimes, authorities employed the assistance of a SWAT team. At 7:45 p.m., a loud diversionary device was used to gain compliance from the fugitives.Read More »
