A Central Point man reportedly suffered severe burns to his face when a trailer caught on fire in the 400 block of Hopkins Road this morning. Jackson County Fire District 3 got a 911 dispatch at 8:30 a.m. At the same time a report came in of a car fire at the same location. When firefighters arrived, they saw a travel trailer on a gravel lot fully engulfed in flames.Read More »

Oregon Gas Prices Continue Rise

The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $2.46. That's up 11 cents in a week and 28 cents in a month. It's 16 cents higher than the national average. Some metro figures from Monday's AAA survey: Portland $2.47, Salem $2.43, Eugene-Springfield $2.52, and Medford-Ashland $2.53.

As crews arrived, firefighters received a second alarm coming from 939 Village Circle Drive as the fire had spread. Gov. Brown Announces Death Penalty Policy

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown says she'll continue a death penalty moratorium imposed by her predecessor, John Kitzhaber, who resigned in an ethics scandal. Brown told reporters Friday at her first news conference as governor that she believes the death penalty should be re-examined.
