Legislature Approves 911 Tax For Prepaid Phones

Police Warn of Craig's List Job Scam

Medford Police are warning job seekers to be wary of a scam on Craigslist. There are postings seeking a nanny and house keeper. If the applicant gets the job, they are given an advance check, and told to keep a portion saved and “money gram” the rest to another person. The check later turns out to be fake, and the victim is out any money they may have sent forward.Read More »

Two Men Arrested For Trying To Lure Teen

Two men were arrested by Medford police Thursday night for allegedly trying to lure a 16-year old boy into a sexual encounter. The intended victim responded to a Craigslist listing “casual encounters” section. The boy and the suspects connected and began exchanging photos and videos by cell phone. Burglary Suspect In Klamath County Arrested After Police Standoff

Oregon Family Council Putting Forward Religious Freedom Petition

With Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer deciding to veto a bill designed to protect religious freedom, an initiative in Oregon could allow voters in the state to decide the issue themselves. Grants Pass Man Arrested For Abusing 10-Year Old

The Oregon State Police report they have arrested a 64-year old Grants Pass man on sexual abuse charges. They allege that Frans Gebhard has been abusing a 10-year old boy for the last two years. Detectives began their investigation of Gebhard on February 13th. He is now lodged in Josephine County Jail. There is no evidence or information of other victims at this time.
