UPDATE: Power In Eagle Point Outage To Be Restored by 12:30 p.m.

TheDove TV has learned from Monte Mendenhall at Pacific Power, that power should be restored by 12:30 p.m. today to the 2,479 customers affected by this morning's power outage. A downed line at the Stevens Road substation is responsible for the outage that occurred at 8:59 a.m. As a result of the outage, students at Eagle Point High School were sent home.Read More »

DNA Evidence Links Suspect to Two Year Burglary Case

Thanks to DNA evidence collected from a drinking straw found in an energy drink can found at the crime scene, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reports they have solved a 2-year old burglary case. 42-year old Molly Jane Williams of Rogue River faces charges related to a break-in back in March of 2010 at a residence on Brownsboro Meridian Road in Eagle Point.Read More »

Talks resumed Tuesday at the Eagle Point school district where classes are being held despite a strike.
     The district says it will correct problems with bus service that
occurred Monday, the first day with substitute employees. Some

Eagle Point School Bus Collides With Car

A school bus in Eagle Point collided with a car on Brownsboro-Meridian Road this morning. None of the five students on board ranging in age from 10 to 17 were injured.

Eagle Point Schools Re-Open, Talks To Resume Tuesday

With employees striking, the Eagle Point school district resumed classes with substitute teachers crossing picket lines.
     The district has informed parents of a modified schedule with
some activities canceled. The district says it will focus on core

Bargaining teams are taking the day off and resume talks tomorrow in the Eagle Point School District 9 strike. A spokesperson for the district reports that by the time talks recessed Tuesday, progress had been made.Read More »

Charges Dropped Against Suspect In Eagle Point Cat Burning

The Jackson County District Attorney's office has dropped the animal abuse charge that was filed against a 17-year-old Shady Cove boy accused of setting a cat on fire. The office says the teen has an alibi for the time the cat was burned in December and investigators could not disprove it. The teen was arrested in February after bragging to an acquaintance about setting a cat on fire.

Eagle Point School District Preparing For Walk Out

The superintendent for the Eagle Point school district says she is preparing for the possibility of a walk out.  Cynda Rickert issued a press release after learning Wednesday night that the union negotiating for district employees had declared an impasse in talks, which have been going on over a year.Read More »
