Eagle Point School District Employees Authorize Strike
Employees in the Eagle Point School district voted to authorize a strike after over a year of negotiations. 87 percent of the district’s employees were present for the vote.
The education association must give the district a 10-day notice, and cannot strike before the current 30-day “cooling off” period ends. The last day of the cooling off period is May 4th.
Both sides in the dispute have a number of issues in which they have been unable to make progress. Two of the major issues are a proposed reduction in prep time for teachers, and contracting out transportation and custodial services.
