Ashland Firewise Clean Up Day "Exceeds Expectations"

By Jim McCoy Wed 9th May NewsAshland newsfire protection

Ashland Firewise says last weekend’s clean-up day event “exceeded expectations.” Organizers expected about 50 vehicles, but by day’s end, 260 vehicles dropped off debris at Lincoln School’s parking lot, and 525 yards of material were collected, equaling about 65 tons. The aim of last weekend’s festivities was to encourage Ashland residents to protect their homes against wildlife by ridding their properties of potential wildfire fuel such as dead grass and weeds.
