One of the men allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting incident in the early hours of last November 1 in Central Point has been arrested. 21-year old Gabriel Perez was arrested Thursday in Medford. Police were at the Shelterwood Circle residence at around 4:30 p.m. on another matter when Perez was seen jumping out a window. He attempted to flee on foot, but authorities caught him.

Perez is a member of a gang and sex offender. He was one of four men in a car that fired upon another vehicle in the area of Beall Lane at 4 a.m. last November. 22-year old Erik Dorey sustained a serious facial wound, and Jennifer Knutson was wounded on her scalp.

Two other men are incarcerated on charges related to the shooting: Trevor Carbajal and Francisco Campos. A fourth suspect, 16-year old Gustavo Santiago, was killed when the vehicle the four were traveling in crashed in an ensuing attempt to elude police that morning. Perez fled the scene of the crash and was later treated at Three River Community Hospital in Grants Pass under an assumed name.
