With employees striking, the Eagle Point school district resumed classes with substitute teachers crossing picket lines.
The district has informed parents of a modified schedule with
some activities canceled. The district says it will focus on core
academics and provide meals, transportation and special education.
Athletics and graduation remain on schedule.
Talks with the union for striking employees are scheduled to
resume Tuesday.
Classes were canceled last week as the strike began last
Tuesday. The district near Medford has 328 employees, including 186
teachers, for 4,100 students.
The Eagle Point Education Association went on strike as talks
stalled over class size and health insurance issues.
