Eagle Point School District Continues Talks
Talks resumed Tuesday at the Eagle Point school district where classes are being held despite a strike.
The district says it will correct problems with bus service that
occurred Monday, the first day with substitute employees. Some
buses ran late or missed students.
The district said that more than 2,500 students were present
Monday, an attendance rate of about 63 percent. Normal is about 93
percent.
The Eagle Point Education Association began the strike May 7.
Classes were canceled last week.
The district has 328 employees, including 186 teachers, and a
total of about 4,100 students.
