Fire In Abandoned Medford Home Called "Suspicious"

By Jim McCoy Wed 23rd May Newsarsonfire

A fire described as “suspicious” by fire officials occurred at 1 a.m. Wednesday in an abandoned home on Thomas Road. Four engines from Medford Fire and one from Jacksonville responded after a neighbor reported seeing heavy smoke and fire from the residence. When firefighters arrived, the flames had spread from the back porch to the attic.  The fire was knocked down in 30 minutes.

No one was hurt. Battalion chief Brian Fish says there was no forced entry, no gas hook up, and no power. Investigators are looking into the fire’s cause.
