Report: Existing Home Prices Rise In Jackson County
There’s good news for people selling homes in Jackson County; the median sales price is on the rise. The median in the most recent rolling quarterly report rose nearly 10 percent to $155,000, according to the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors.
The figures reflect an increasing demand, while inventory is shrinking. Sales are up 3.1%; 539 homes sold in the most recent report, compared to 523 at this time in 2011. There are 26% fewer homes on the market in Jackson County.
Homes are also spending less time on the market. The average has gone from a 2011 figure of 97 days to 81.
A plurality of transactions fall into the “normal” category at 43.8%, 37.8% were bank-owned properties, while 18.2% were “short” sales.
