Pacific Power Announcing Layoffs

Pacific Power says they are laying off up to 70 employees, among them, 12 at plants between Grants Pass and Yreka. The layoffs will reportedly keep the utility from further raising rates.

Demand for Pacific Power electricity has been decreasing over the last 5 years. The layoffs will include management as well as some field employees. Overall, Pacific Power employs 6,500 people.
