Job Growth Seen In Latest Jackson County Figures

The latest estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that Jackson County gained 1,190 jobs in the month of May. Retail trade sector gained 610 jobs, local government employment gained 180 jobs and construction gained 140 during the month. Nearly every published sector showed an improvement.

With that being said, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rates for Jackson and Josephine County remained unchanged  at 10.5 and 11.5 percent respectively. Jackson County's civilian labor force grew by 785 from April to May.
