U of O Becoming Popular School Choice For Californians
More than 4,500 Californians enrolled at the University of Oregon in fall 2010, breaking a record. California is the largest and fastest-growing producer of Duck recruits outside of Oregon. The Register-Guard says it's a trend driven by the UO's aggressive marketing efforts and the school's desire for students who pay out-of-state tuition.
Californians now account for nearly one out of every five UO students. They also account for a majority of the UO's overall student growth. Now incoming UO President Michael Gottfredson is heading to Oregon from Orange County, Calif.
