Bottle Bomb Found Outside Medford Store Discovered
Fortunately no one was injured by a bottle bomb discovered by a passer by Sunday morning behind the back of the Albertson's store on West Main. An OSP squad used a water cannon to detonate the two liter bottle wrapped in duct tape and filled with what police believe is hydrochloric acid. Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau says he thinks no one intended to harm anybody, but the acid and shrapnel from the device could have really hurt someone. The fact that someone just left it indicates an awareness by the person(s) involved were apprehensive in approaching the bomb. He adds police are studying store video, and Budreau is hopeful getting the story out to the media will he solve the case. The persons involved could face felony charges for the illegal manufacture of an explosive device.
