Skundrick Appointed to State Board
Jackson County Commissioner Don Skundrick has been appointed by Governor John Kitzhaber to the Oregon's Infrastructure Finance Authority (IFA) Board, which helps communities to improve public health and safety through infrastructure improvements, especially involving safe drinking water and wastewater systems. Skundrick will serve a four-year term.
The IFA was created to ensure that the state's infrastructure needs are better identified and prioritized in order to ensure the best use of the state's limited resources. The Authority’s grants, loans and technical assistance mean cleaner and safer drinking water, compliant wastewater systems, better roads, main streets and utilities, and improved social facilities for Oregonians statewide.
As a board member, Skundrick will review loan request and recommendations from IFA staff as to the viability of the loan and its overall importance and priority to Oregon's citizens. The board meets six times each year.
