Asante Breaking Ground On Outpatient Center At Three Rivers
Asante broke ground on a new outpatient center located on the Asante Three Rivers Medical Center campus today.
The outpatient center will be the largest medical facility construction project in Southern Oregon. A press release from Asante says the outpatient center will be 80,000 net useable square feet and will be "built to the highest standards of efficiency and people-friendly design to enhance the patient experience."
Sheri Bodager is vice president of Asante Physician Partners and she says in the near future there will be greater demand for family practice and specialty physicians. “We are currently about 30 physicians short of what we need in Josephine County. We are actively recruiting new physicians to the community and many of the newly recruited physicians will practice in the Asante Physician Partners offices in the outpatient center.”
The center will house services for imaging, laboratory, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, urgent care, and physician offices, as well as a conference center and other services yet to be determined.
The project is being hailed as a boost to the local economy, which will create approximately 300 project related jobs—the majority of them local—and additional professional jobs for the physician offices and outpatient services when the outpatient center opens.
The outpatient facility is designed by TVA Architects. The firm has worked with Asante for more than 4.5 years on various projects. Adroit Construction is the contractor. Total project cost for the facility is estimated at $30 million.
