High Tech Crimes Task Force Leader Resigns

Jackson County District Attorney Mark Huddleton says the police lieutenant who heads the Southern Oregon High-Tech Crimes Task Force has resigned amid an investigation.  Huddleton declined to describe the allegations against Josh Moulin, who was a member of the Central Point Police Department.

     The Oregon State Police is handling the investigation. OSP spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings declined to comment on the case. The Mail Tribune reports that the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force is the only nonfederal law enforcement agency in the U.S. that solely does digital forensics.

It dates to 2005, when Moulin approached Central Point officials about the forming the unit.
