Standoff With Veteran Ends Peacefully on Table Rock Road

The Medford Mail Tribune is reporting that a police standoff Thursday with a suicidal Iraq War veteran ended peacefully. The 33-year old, whose name is not being released by Medford police was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Police negotiators enlisted help from a V.A. counselor to talk with the man. No one was hurt, and the man was taken to the Moore Center to sober up. He would be taken to a hospital for a psychological assessment.
