Costumed Burglar Breaks Into Shady Cove Businesses, Reward Offered

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate burglaries that took place on July 27 and July 28 in Shady Cove. Bargains on the Rogue and Minimall were burglarized at some point during the night. Surveillance video at one of the businesses captured a suspect forcing his way into the business wearing a Halloween costume.

More than $10,000 in jewelry was taken from Bargains On The Rogue. Items include rings, necklaces, gold watches, bracelets and 60 earrings.

The suspect made off with more than $6,000 in items from Minimall, including an antique sword, several knives, and miscellaneous property and items including fishing tackle.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information to please call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 541-774-8333 or Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 1-800-850-0580. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous.
