Fort Complex Fires Continue Burning
A group of wildfires known as the Fort Complex Fire grew by over 800 acres Monday, bringing the total acreage burned to 2,639. All told, the fire is 17 percent contained.
The rugged terrain and low relative humidity are hampering efforts to stop the fire, though it’s reported that gains by fire crews are being made. What is described as a “wetting rain” is forecast for Saturday, but officials say its unclear how much effect it will have.
Forestry officials are urging caution for motorists traveling Highway 96 along the Klamath River, and Upper Applegate Road.
