Two wildfires broke out Tuesday afternoon in the Umpqua National Forest, approximately six miles northeast of Lemolo Lake near Windigo Butte. Crews are at work to suppress the 11 acre Cow Horn fire and the 75 acre Butte fire.

The fires have prompted the closure of roads and trails in the area- including the Pacific Crest Trail 2000 at the intersection of Trail 200 and 3641 southeast to the intersection of Trail 2000 and 1466. Portions of Forest Service Trails 1412, 1455 and 2845 are closed, as is Forest Service Road 60.
