Rewards Offered For Help In Jackson County Poaching Cases

Fish and Wildlife investigators from the Oregon State Police are seeking public help in solving several recent cases of poaching in Jackson County. A reward is being offered by the oregon hunter’s association.
One case involves a headless elk carcass found in the Butte Falls area. It was left to waste on Rancheria Road on July 20th near milepost 2.

The second involves two elk carcasses found August 11th in the Butte Falls Highway at around milepost 4. On that same day two mature black tail deer were found dead three miles up Savage Creek Road near Rogue River. One of the bucks is considered a trophy-sized animal.

The reward is $500 leading to an arrest in the elk cases, and $250 in the deer case. Anyone who has information is asked to call the tip line at 1-800-452-7888 or trooper Jim Collom at (541) 618-7997.
