No One Hurt In I-5 RV Fire

By Jim McCoy Mon 20th August Newsfire

A Medford couple walked away unhurt from the I-5 fire near Gold Hill that destroyed their motor home. The Mail Tribune reports 85-year-old Joy Adreon says she and her husband, 86-year-old Leon Adreon, were driving south on I-5 around 3:30 p.m. Sunday when they heard a large popping sound coming from their vehicle. They pulled over and noticed fire and smoke coming from below the 1988 motor home.

The fire also spread to a small area in a grassy field near the freeway. Jackson County Fire District No. 3 Battalion Chief Rod Edwards says crews contained the fire within minutes.

Adreon says she and her husband traveled across the United States in their motor home, which had about 94,000 miles on it.
