Police Standoff Ends in Medford Without Shots Being Fired
An early-morning standoff between a man and Medford police ended peacefully after 2 hours today. Police received a call at 1:46 a.m. reporting that 29-year old Danny Burlington was threatening to kill himself.
Police arrived to find Burlington, who made a similar threat to take his life in July, standing in the middle of the street, appearing to be holding a gun to his head. Neighboring homes were evacuated.
Burlington surrendered at 4 a.m. The gun turned out to be a fake.
In the incident from earlier this summer, Burlington shot himself in the shoulder. He was cited for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
