Crews Continue Work on Goff Fire
Crews are continuing their work on the Goff Fire, the last remaining fire in the Fort Complex.
In the last day, the fire has grown to 5,300 acres, primarily growing along the east fork of Portugese Creek. At last report, the fire is 15 percent contained.
Forestry officials say the top priority for firefighters is protecting Siead Valley residents. Crews are working today to prevent the fire from crossing Goff Creek.
Multiple trail closures are in effect, including the Pacific Crest Trail. Closure information is posted online at www.inciweb.org/incident/3117/ and at the Klamath National Forests website at www.fs.usda.gov/klamath/
