BREAKING NEWS: Goff Fire Prompts Evacuation Notice of Seiad Valley
At just after 11 a.m., the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s office issued a 6-hour notice for immediate evacuation in the Siead Valley area due to the spread of the Goff Fire. Residents have one to two hours or less to evacuate.
The evacuation notice also includes the closure of Siead Creek Road and other road closures were possible depending on fire behavior. An evacuation center has been set up at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds in Yreka. Additional information may be obtained by calling the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s office at (530) 493-1514. To date, the fire has burned over 12-thousand 500 acres.
