Howard Dean Fires Up Oregon's Democratic Delegation
Howard Dean got Oregon's delegates to the Democratic National Convention fired up as the convention began in Charlotte, N.C., and Dean responded to whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago. The former Vermont governor and ex-head of the Democrats' national committee appeared before the Oregon delegation at breakfast Tuesday morning.
The Oregonian reported that Dean got the Oregon delegates cheering and stomping as he blamed the administration of George W. Bush for many ills of the nation. Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden told the delegates they can argue that President Obama has made progress on such fronts as health care, energy policy, technology and education.
