$395,000 Donated To Oregon HEAT
The Oregon HEAT program is receiving $395,000 to help low-income residents with their heating bills. The program works in partnership with Pacific Power. $125,000 came from donations by Pacific Power customers, employees, and retirees. Another $270,000 comes the utility’s shareholders.
Oregon HEAT Executive Director Roger Rees says 436,000 Oregonians are “caught in a financial crisis they may not be able to manage.” He expects a record number of requests for heating help.
The organization works in partnership with community agencies such as ACCESS to provide energy assistance.
