Rogue Community College Gets $3 Million Grant

Rogue Community College is one of just 27 colleges in the country-and the only one in Oregon- to receive grant money for health care training programs. A projected 461 students will get training via the $3 million dollar grant, according to a press release from the school.

The money is coming via the U.S. Department of Labor. It will help train CNAs in acute, dementia, and restorative care; lab assistants; and physical therapy assistants. RCC will work in partnership with Lane Community College.

Among employment sectors in southern Oregon, the health care industry has typically experienced among the highest demand for workers. Southern Oregon's livability makes it a popular retirement destination for seniors.
