City Council Approves Land Deal With Motorcycle Riders' Association
The Jacksonville City Council, by a 5-1 vote, has approved the sale of 380 acres in the upper portion of the city's watershed to the Motorcycle Riders Association. As part of the deal, the group will transfer a 40-acre parcel adjacent to Forest Park to the city and pay $680,000.
Forest Park has been developed by the city in the lower watershed over the last six years. The parcel purchased can be used to help improve parking. The MRA already owns land next to the 380-acre parcel.
The Motorcycle Riders Association will now need to tap into a grant fund to seal the deal.
