Jackson County Sheriff's Department: Be Wary of New Scam

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is warning people to be extra vigilant about giving out personal information. Over the last week, they’ve received reports of callers to trying to use the Affordable Care Act as their reason for calling. The caller tells the intended victim they need to sign up for Obamacare and personal information is needed in the process. The sheriff’s office reminds everyone to never give out personal information over the phone. When asked, make sure it is a company you know, and its someone who can prove to you they are legitimate.
