Accused Murder Huddleston Requests New Attorney

A Medford judge has granted an accused murderer's request for a new defense attorney. Bourne Huddleston, who is being held in the Jackson County Jail, said he did not feel he was receiving adequate representation from Michael Bertholf and wanted a different public defender. The Mail Tribune reports that Berthold did not object to Huddleston's request. Prosecutors allege the 43-year-old ex-Marine killed his wife with a single gunshot wound after he failed in two attempts to hire two men to perform a murder-for-hire scheme. The couple's 10-year-old son was in the home at the time of the shooting and called police. Police tracked Huddleston to an Eagle Point home where he was arrested without incident. Associated Press
