Rogue Disposal and Recycling are inviting the public to recycle plastics with a “Plastic Roundup” today and tomorrow. The event is being held at the Jackson County Expo and the Ashland National Guard Armory from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Acceptable plastics for recycling include dry cleaning and grocery bags, tarps, greenhouse film, baling twine, buckets, bottle caps, drink lids, 8-track and audio tapes, VHS cassettes, CDs and DVDs.
Items that won’t be accepted include food or chemically contaminated bags, pvc pipe, coolers, swimming pool liners, foam, rubber, latex or nitrile.
Rogue Disposal will charge a small fee of 5 dollars to cover basic costs. Since 2008, this event has collected over 94 tons of plastic.
