Southern Oregon Active Transportation Summit Today in Medford

By Jim McCoy Fri 19th October Newstransportation
Police, business owners, policy makers and interested citizens are gathering today at Rogue Valley Country Club to discuss how to best promote walking, biking and using public transportation. Organizers say that increasing what they refer to as “active transportation” addresses concerns about land use, chronic disease, energy costs, air quality and livability. Among the topics on the agenda: options for all ages, how bicycles can save small town America, land use planning and active transportation, and safety on rural roads, among the array of subjects. Registrants were also asked to submit a “big idea” and participants will vote on a favorite.
