Police say a protester involved in a stabbing outside a Planned Parenthood health center in Oregon has been released, and it will be up to the district attorney to decide if criminal charges are filed. Grants Pass police Lt. Dennis Ward said Wednesday there are self-defense issues to be sorted out in the case.
Police say Christopher Tolhurst was protesting outside the Planned Parenthood office in Grants Pass when a young woman confronted him and kicked over some of his signs. Police say he pushed her, and she came back with her father, Ted Clair, who pushed Tolhurst to the ground and punched him in the face.
When police got there, they say Clair was holding down Tolhurst, who had a knife. Clair was stabbed several times and underwent surgery.
