Police Identify Items Stolen from Slain Cab Driver

Medford police are identifying some of the items stolen from a cab driver who was murdered nearly two weeks ago. William Huson carried a black leather shaving kit containing a brown, bi fold leather wallet, along with his identification, other paperwork, and an undisclosed amount of cash. He also carried an electronic vapor cigarette. Huson made his last contact with dispatch at Valley Cab at 10:40 p.m. He said he was picking up a fare in front of Howiee’s, a downtown Medford bar. He was reported missing at 1:02 a.m. Huson’s cab was found deserted near the corner of 9th and Almond at around 5 a.m. He was found dead of a gunshot wound to his head in a field on Helo Drive, near Vilas Road, outside Central Point at 8:23 a.m. Police have given a description of a person of interest. He is a white male, 25-35 years old, about 6-feet-1 inches tall, with a fair complexion and pock marks from acne. He was wearing dark clothing. Police hope the items have been located or seen by a private citizen. 20 new leads have come in to police since a Tuesday press conference. Anyone with information is asked to call (541) 770-4783. A $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
