OSP: Fewer Fatalities On Oregon Roads During Holiday Weekend
Fewer Oregonians perished in motor vehicle-related crashes over theThanksgiving and Oregon-Oregon State Civil War weekend. An Elgin man died in a single car accident, and a pedestrian in Portland was struck and killed.
These two fatalities represent a decrease from the three that died last year at this time. 47 were arrested on drunk driving charges, a decrease from 72 in 2011 during the same period. Five of those arrests occurred out of the Central Point OSP command.
