Voisin Retains Ashland City Council Spot
By a razor thin margin of 29 votes, Carol Voisin will retain her seat on the Ashland City Council. The margin ended up being greater than the limit for triggering an automatic recount. Voisin was challenged by Jackie Agee.
City Councilor Greg Lemhouse and Mayor John Stromberg also kept their offices. They will be joined by newcomer Rich Rosenthal, who succeeds Russ Silberger.
A group calling itself the Great City Council Political Action Committee launched a campaign against Voisin. The PAC states they support candidates with moderate, “non-ideological” views. Voisin has had a reputation for being one of the more liberal members of the council.
