After a recount, Cherryl Walker has been declared the winner in the race for Josephine County Commissioner Position 3 over Bob Just. The former legislator won by a mere 58 votes, out of over 34-thousand cast. Walker received 17,147 votes to Just’s 17,089.
In a statement to the media, Just congratulated Walker and described his campaign experience as “inspiring” and adds that he “rests happily in God’s will.” He also thank all those who worked on his campaign and helped oversee the recount process.
There was a four vote difference between the original count and the recount. The County Clerk’s office has certified the results.
