Basketball Player From Medford Still Critical
A former North Medford High School basketball standout now playing at Utah State remains hospitalized in critical condition. Danny Berger collapsed at practice yesterday and stopped breathing.
School representatives say that the basketball game scheduled for tonight in Provo between the Aggies and Brigham Young University has been postponed due to Berger's serious medical condition.
Emergency responders had to use a defibrillator to get Berger breathing again. It is unknown what caused Berger to collapse.
The junior is a starting forward on the team, averaging eight points and four rebounds a game. During his career with the Black Tornado, Berger set single season records for scoring and three-pointers made.
