Medford Teen Awarded For Saving Swimmer
An 18-year old Medford teen has been honored for pulling a drowning swimmer from Lost Creek Lake July 23rd. The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association says the swimmer would have died if not for Dillon Huntley.
Huntley swam out to help the panicked swimmer who had nearly pulled under others trying to help the young man. According to a report in the Medford Mail Tribune, Jackson County Sheriff’s Cpt. Arron Elder was at the lake on her day off and called for help when she learned of the rescue that was underway.
Huntley received his award last week at the association’s annual conference in Bend.
