Oregon Highway 230 between Union Creek and Diamond Lake (mile point 0-23) is expected to reopen by late afternoon today. It's been closed since Sunday, after heavy, wet snow toppled more than 25 large trees onto the roadway. Hazardous winter conditions, including another foot of snow and rain, prevented crews from quickly reopening the highway.
Since the closure, a contractor has felled snow-loaded hazard trees and ODOT crews have worked to clear the highway, which expected to reopen by late this afternoon.
